This is my first Classics Club spin since joining, so I’m quite excited to see what I get to read next! I have been steadily working through the books on my list, but I still have the vast majority of them to go, so let’s do this.
My method of picking which 20 of my remaining list to put forward for the spin is not profound: basically, I looked at which of the books I already have, or have easy access to (can borrow them from a friend, for instance), which got me to 18 books, and then I threw in two more that I’m kind of excited/curious about reading right now. This of course means most of my re-read selections are on this list as well, which I don’t mind.
Then I put the titles into a list randomizer program and, voilà, presto:
- Fahrenheit 451
- The Art of War
- Rainbow Valley
- Scaramouche
- The Mysterious Affair at Styles
- The Prince
- To Kill a Mockingbird
- This Side of Paradise
- Steppenwolf
- The Green Years
- Paradise Lost
- The Marble Faun
- The Triumph of the Scarlet Pimpernel
- The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes
- Uncle Tom’s Cabin
- The Iliad
- The Gambler
- The Idiot
- Journey to the Centre of the Earth
- A Lady of Quality
Happy spinning to all you Classics Clubbers out there!
This has been my first Classics Club Spin! Check out my whole list here.
Welcome aboard the spin train!
You have a great list so whichever number comes up, you should be guaranteed a winner!
I’ve only read To Kill a Mockingbird & The Iliad but have many of the others waiting patiently on my lists for me to read too 🙂

Be prepared to wade through genealogies of men who are about to die in the Iliad. If they ever stopped sharing introduce, pedigrees, and business cards and just fought, the whole war would have been over in half the time!
