A week ago I read Stiff Upper Lip, Jeeves by P.G. Wodehouse, delighted to be once again immersed in the carefree, devilishly hare-brained world of Bertram Wooster. So I thought now would be as good a time as any to post a picture I made aligning the Wicked Witch of the West, Zelina, from Once Upon a Time with hapless Bingo Little from the Jeeves books. When I read the above quote in The Inimitable Jeeves where Bingo begs Wooster to present his matrimonial case to Jeeves for solving, I couldn’t help but notice how strikingly similar the condition presented seemed to Zelina’s plight in season 4 of OUAT–happy endings, the importance of Zelina’s wedding bells ringing out in episode 22 “Operation Mongoose, Part II,” and, of course, the fate of kingdoms galore. I can’t help but feel on reflection that if Zelina had had Jeeves on her side as Bingo did, all would have gone differently for the intrepid heroes of Storybrooke.
