After not completing the last spin on time, due to feeling a bit behind and swamped with books, I’m actually in a place where I’m feeling ready for the next one. (We’re overlooking the fact that I’m still behind on reviews.) So here goes!
I took all of the titles I have left (minus one that I know is on my list for book club this fall) and randomized them. The first twenty to come up on that random list is what makes up this spin, in the order they appeared. I wasn’t sure how this would turn out but actually looks to be a good one.
- Journey to the Center of the Earth (1864) by Jules Verne
- The War of the Worlds (1898) by H.G. Wells
- The Dubliners (1914) by James Joyce
- Dune (1965) by Frank Herbert
- The Idiot (1869) by Fyodor Dostoevsky
- The Mysterious Affair at Styles (1920) by Agatha Christie
- On the Road (1957) by Jack Kerouac
- Pygmalion (1913) by George Bernard Shaw
- The Left Hand of Darkness (1969) by Ursula K. Le Guin
- This Side of Paradise (1920) by F. Scott Fitzgerald
- Indiana (1832) by George Sand
- Don Quixote (1605-1615) by Miguel de Cervantes
- The Marble Faun (1860) by Nathaniel Hawthorne
- The Iliad by Homer
- Till We Have Faces (1956) by C.S. Lewis
- Barnaby Rudge (1841) by Charles Dickens
- The Gambler (1887) by Fyodor Dostoevsky
- The Art of War by Sun Tzu
- Love in a Time of Cholera (1985) by Gabriel García Márquez
- To Kill A Mockingbird (1960) by Harper Lee (re-read)
I actually wouldn’t mind any of these for my summer read, although there are a couple I would be less excited about than others. But that’s always the way. At least it keeps me working away at the list in among my other reads.
This has been my third Classics Club Spin! Check out my whole list here.
Yours are the second list with The Mysterious Affair at Styles for this spin! That book is still one of my favorite Poirot’s. Good luck with your spin and I hope you get a nice book to read!

I almost forgot it was on my list, but I’m looking forward to reading it as I love Agatha Christie. I haven’t read any of the Poirot books yet so I thought it would be a good place to start! Great to hear it’s a favourite! Thanks for commenting.
